The efficacy of Miracle Soil Conditioner was conducted in Aduyon clay soil at NOMIARC, in Brgy. Dalwangan, Malaybalay City, Bukidnon Province, to assess the yield performance of Miracle Soil Conditioner, applied singly or in combination with recommended rates of inorganic fertilizers on tomatoes, and to generate data to support product registration and market development.
Applications of 120-150-120 (RR)/ha. inorganic fertilizer + 1.5 rate of Miracle Soil Conditioner (T5) gave the highest fruit yield of 37.795 tons per hectare.
Likewise, recommended rate of inorganic fertilizer alone (T2) showed a comparable yield with RR + 0.5 Miracle SC (T3) of 27.222 and 27.535 t/ha., respectively. The control (T1) had the lowest average yield of 9.235 tons per hectare.
Results further showed that T5 (RR inorganic + 1.5 Miracle SC) gave the highest significant difference on number of fruits (30.04 fruits) per plant. This was followed by T2 (RR of inorganic fertilizer) and T3 (RR + 0.5 Miracle SC) of 24.38 and 23.45 fruits per plant. Control (T1) showed the lowest of 11.14 fruits per plant.
Based on soil analysis, results showed no significant differences among treatments.
The increase in crop yield on tomatoes was greatly influenced by the application of Miracle Soil Conditioner which enhanced the availability of other nutrients required for plant use.
However, the application of Miracle Soil Conditioner was used in combination with recommended or minimal rate of inorganic fertilizers to cater to nutrient requirements of the plants.
Therefore, it is highly suggested that Miracle Soil Conditioner (MSC) be registered as Soil Conditioner for solanaceous family especially for tomato crops.
